Tibetan Buddhism has moved out of the mountains and into the world at large. Explore the meaning of Buddhist art, practice and wisdom in the present world. Klein is Professor of Religious Studies at Rice University and the founding director of Dawn Mountain Tibetan Temple and Community Center. Her discussion will include the significance of mandalas, which are said to have many doors, each leading directly towards enlightenment. Come early to witness Tibetan Buddhist monks creating a sand mandala, an artful form of meditation and prayer for world peace.
