$12 members, $15 non-members
Tibetan monks are admired throughout the world as symbols of peace and spiritual observance. Lama Geshe Nyima Dakpa of the Menri Monastery in India will explore the core beliefs of the Tibetan traditions and how monastic training fosters them. The Menri Monastery is the primary educational center for Bon, Tibet’s oldest pre-Buddhist religion. After the destruction of monasteries in Tibet, Bon and Buddhist religious leaders fled to India and Nepal to continue the Tibetan traditions.
