A distinguished panel of speakers from Rice University will discuss the challenges that face Tibet in today’s global environment from three different perspectives. Topics to be discussed include Tibetan Buddhism and Bon traditions, the current political situation of Tibet and the responsibility the global community has for Tibet. A distinguished panel from Rice University includes: Richard J. Smith, Ph.D., Rupp Professor of Humanities and Professor of History; Steven Lewis, Ph.D., Program Director, James A. Baker Institute for Public Policy; and Alejandro Chaoul, Ph.D. candidate focusing on Tibetan religions.
